Mia had everything: a loving family, a gorgeous, adoring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music and full of choices. Then, in an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future, Mia spends one critical day contemplating the one decision she has left—the most important decision she’ll ever make.

From the blurb, this book probably sounds a bit cheesy but I would encourage anyone to read it. If I stay is life affirming and makes you think about the bigger picture. It is one of those books that sends shivers down your spine and leaves you thinking about the characters for weeks. I would consider this book a classic as it is timeless and beautiful.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to start reading more books for older readers but doesn’t want something really long and time consuming. This book deserves five out of five stars for it’s honesty and utter brilliance! Please read the book before watching the film because it is amazing if you don’t know what happens before you read it.
